The new Mercedes-Benz S 400 BlueHYBRID, is base on the S 350 model, but with a remarkable modified engine.

The motor was reconditioned from the 3,5 litres V6 of gasoline.
Added an electrical motor, the automatic 7 gears specially configurated to fit the hybrid model, the needed electronic to manage the group motor, the transformer and the high voltage battery.

The compact hybrid module it is an electrical motor of a disc shape that works as start engine and generator. The system has a double advantage, because saves fuel and at the same time increases the driving pleasure.

This is due to the effect of electrical engine strength, that helps energetically the gasoline motor giving it a pair of additional 160Nm during accelaration phase.
The driver takes advantage of the joint working of these propellers and enjoys a more , smooth and superior effective accelaration.

The hybrid module has also a start/stop function that stops the motor when the vehicle is stopped, for example, at the traffic lights.
At the moment of the departure, the electrical motor starts the gasoline motor in an imperceptible way, thus saving fuel and protecting the environment.
